Welcome!

I am a folklorist, cultural researcher, and writer who worked for many years as Folklife Specialist and Archivist in the American Folklife Center, Library of Congress. My research interests have focused on the archival collections of traditional music and culture from the New Deal era and ethnographic field research on Danish American culture in the Midwest, including that of the Danish Grundtvigian folk school movement in the United States.

My book, California Gold: Sidney Robertson and the WPA California Folk Music Project, was recently published by the University of California Press in Association with the Library of Congress, April 2, 2024.

You may check out more detailed information about the book, such as how to order it, plus research publications, projects, professional activities, and presentations, both past and up-coming, on the subsequent pages.
